Ralston Semler Foundation

The Ralston Semler Foundation is the mentor and catalyst for educational, cultural, environmental and strategic projects. It conceives, projects and implements them from a self-sustaining standpoint. It currently works on four different but synergistic fronts:

  • Lumiar Institute – democratic education at two schools (São Paulo and Campos do Jordão).
  • DNA Brazil Institute – a think-tank that promotes strategic studies for Brazil.
  • Habitat dos Mellos (Mellos’ Habitat) – a social, cultural and environmental project.
  • Festival dos Mellos (Mellos’ Festival) – a multi-cultural festival.
Lumiar Institute Mellos’ Habitat
The Lumiar Institute is a centre for studies holding debates, research and reflections on democratic education during childhood and adolescence. The intention here is to create a model that can be easily replicated of what the “first world” would be like when adapted to the Brazilian reality, based on which the Ralston Semler Foundation developed the Mellos’ Habitat.
